I love the graphics I spot on the street that are a bit

left of centre.

This one in Mumbai really got my attention... how

could it not when it features Robin Hood on

roller skates.

I feel so at home there . It's like when I step off the

plane my soul relaxes and exhales.

When I am in India, I love the fact that

everywhere you go, big open smiles greet

you.

I also spotted a colour trend that I think

might just catch on....

Offerings

I love all the garlands of flowers you see all over the

streets of India and Thailand.

In Thailand these offerings (such as the bottle of Fanta

with a sweet smelling garland of Jasmine around its

neck) are placed in the shadow of a building, to thank

Buddha for the use of the land it is built upon.

Streets in Bloom

In every city I travel to, on every street, flowers are

blossoming in every incarnation possible.

Long live flower power.

Diwali

I arrived in Mumbai today on the last

day of the three day Diwali festival.

This is the festival of lights and amongst

the fireworks at night and garlands of

fairy lights in the trees, the streets are

decorated with these fantastic richly

coloured powders.

These designs are called 'Rangoli'

and they are created outside entrances

and doorways to welcome the Goddess

Lakshmi for good luck, wealth and to

ward of evil for the year ahead.

I think they are so beautiful even

as they get swept away by peoples feet

and the wind.
