I have seen these totally recognizable faces

popping up all over the streets I have

travelled to recently. They are synonymous

with style and now they are signifiers of the

type of attitude and spirit their image

embodies.

It used to be that you bought a Tee at a

concert and then wore your music tastes

on your sleeve.

Now it is can be anyone from First Ladies to

domestic Goddesses that appear in the

most unexpected places.

But there will always be the face of an iconic

music legend in amongst them all.

Elvis might have left the building but is still

very much present on the streets.

What is one of the tiniest accessories with the BIGGEST

impact...

...the badge of course.

Badges are a way to express something funny, political,

ironic, sexy, silly, true to you or just something that

adds a flash of graphic style to your look.

What would the punk movement have done without their

badge laden ripped denim. What would school kids do if

they couldn't customize their school bags.

I love them because they are so simple and small, but

quite powerful as a style statement as these pins pay

testimony to.

The mailman will never be bored again if

we all had funky mailboxes like these.

Another sample of what I've seen on walls

lately. Peel back the layers and trace the

history of the last month of street culture.

Military Precision.

Military has long been a trend..one that

just won't go away. It just keeps morphing

into different silhouettes and textures.

I like the bomber jacket and the khaki coat

or jacket at the moment, rather than the

brassy buttoned ,black and navy ones we

have seen a bit too much of lately.

Carnival Keleidescope

Carnival colour. Celebration,

no inhibitions, chaos,...there is something

about a street in the midst of a carnival

that gets me into a photographic frenzy!

It is as though everyone is in the moment...

expressing themselves creatively,

dancing and showing off like native

tribesman during an ancient ritual.

After all...those primeval urges to let go and

just be, are always within us no matter where

we live.
