Bookshops

Bookshops around the world part two..these images
bring back so many memories.
Especially the ones from Cuba.
Books seem to are an integral part of this city.
Bookshops are every where and they are so beautiful
and full of books with the most amazing graphics on
there well preserved covers.
It is even forbidden to remove antique books through
customs.
So I hope you enjoy a glimpse of them on this blog.

Up ,Up and Away

The man of steel, able to leap tall buildings .. and all that.
No other superheroes emblem is so easily recognised
and sits on the chest of so many street style savvy.
Hero worship...nothing wrong with that.

Sign o the Times

This is the first post of an ongoing series about street
signs.
Don't trip up as you walk along looking up at these great
graphic signs ; cool, retro and sometimes just quirky.
I especially love the first sign I photographed in
silhouette.
It was the sign outside a pub in London and shows that
the art of the sign doesn't only have to be about the
typeface and graphics used, but can also be about
interesting shapes and materials.

Uniformity

I hope this shows that uniforms don't
always have to be dull.
A rollerblading policewoman in Paris,
a celebratory march in Cuba , a dashing
guard in Beijing, and a Sailor girl at the
Sydney gay and lesbian Mardi Gras.
Oh, and a brigadier type chap..is that
Lord Nelson?

Hot Pink Public Transport..

The classic black London cab had better
watch out. There is a new breed in town.
Forget discreet and inconspicuous,
gliding past the elegant stone facades
and black iron gates,
down wet shiny streets.
All very proper.

Fierce and fuchsia!
Plastered with publicity!
A distant relative of the fluro taxi that has
emerged in many tropical climates south
of the equator..(I first saw them in Bangkok.)

At least they are easy to spot.

TAXI!!
