Che

I take so many photographs all the time, that
sometimes they get lost in the archives of my computer.
I discovered these the other day...

I took these photos in Cuba at a market in
the centre of Old Havana . It is this great
market full of antique books, stamp-
albums and vintage movie posters.

Edward Scissorhand's Mailbox ?

Remember the post (no pun intended)
I did on mailboxes recently? (see popular
posts). Well this has to be one of the best
I've seen.
It is the mailbox of a Neo-Gothic Church
in Sydney that is now used as venue for
live music and parties.
It reminds me of something you might see
in a Tim Burton film.
Wouldn't you love it if you were a postman
and there were more mailboxes like this
one?

I love a bit of creative shrubbery!

Black and Navy

This is one of my favourite colour
combinations.

I really like the black sneakers and the
slightly flared pants as well.
Simple and effortless style!

Diwali

I arrived in Mumbai today on the last
day of the three day Diwali festival.
This is the festival of lights and amongst
the fireworks at night and garlands of
fairy lights in the trees, the streets are
decorated with these fantastic richly
coloured powders.
These designs are called 'Rangoli'
and they are created outside entrances
and doorways to welcome the Goddess
Lakshmi for good luck, wealth and to
ward of evil for the year ahead.
I think they are so beautiful even
as they get swept away by peoples feet
and the wind.

Bloggers are Everywhere!

When I was in Tokyo I was blown away by how
many other bloggers there were on the streets.

I started taking photos of people on the streets
when I was in design school. I loved magazines like
The Face, Interview and ID and was inspired by the
street fashion shoots they would do.
Now days recording street style has blown up and
thats why I like mixing it up with art and design and
other quirky things I find on the street, for a point
of difference.

Beachside Bliss

There's nothing I love more than sitting in a cafe by the
sea, sipping on a fresh coconut and feeling that lazy,
beachy feeling you only get from these kinds of blissful
moments.
Aaaaaaah,
holiday memories.

MOvember

With Movember around the corner here
is some inspiration for you ... get those
hairy upper lips flourishing now and you
just may end up with one as impressive as
this blokes!

Canned

One of my favourite stickers spotted in
Tokyo a few days ago.
More to come....
so much great street art and style there.
Stay tuned !

Creatures of the Night

Cue the spooky music Twilight zone
style....

Graffiti at night often gains an eerie
extra dimension created by the glow
of street lights and the emptiness that
night often brings in the centre of a
city , that by day is a buzzing metropolis.

In Buenos Aires this is definitely the
case, added the the fact that a lot of the
art depicts weird and wonderful
creatures of the night.

Stumped for a Title

Do You remember I posted the photograph of the great
wall emblazoned with an eagle located in Surry Hills
in Sydney ( the Eagle Has Landed, 28/9) ?
Well here is another fantastic example of the street art
this inner city suburb.
I will post some more in the coming weeks, so if you
like these, keep an eye out.

Pros and Cons

A relaxed day in the city of London..
beaten -up Converse are the shoe of choice
for this couple.
What shoes do you throw on when you
don't want to think about it but comfort
and simple style is paramount ?

Stubborn as a....

I took this photograph beside the Great Wall of China.
I loved the simplicity of subject matter and lack of
colour in the scene.

Music to Your Hears

Here are some more tunes I love at the moment...

Cameo Lover. Kimbra
Titanium. David Guetta feat. Sia
How To Love. Lil Wayne
Feel So Close. Calvin Harris
The Crying Game. Boy George
Just Ladyo Gaga. Lady Gaga vs Queen
U Never Know. Goldfrapp
Paper Aeroplane. Angus and Julia Stone
Love On Top. Beyonce
Reptillia. The Strokes
You See The Trouble With Me. Black Legend

Love Letters

This wall is one of many in Sydney's historical area
'The Rocks' wallpapered with an artwork by Australian
artist Eric Bridgeman.
Normally bills like this one are posted to advertise a
concert or product, but many artists are realizing
the power of the repetitive image ,displayed in a location
that will reach a wider audience than inside a gallery.

Bringing it to the street ...makes sense to me.
What do you think ?

The World's Smallest Beach ? (cont)

Can you believe it ?
So this is the beach at the end of one of the most
beautiful streets in the world...along the foreshores
of the Sydney Harbour.

Tiniest Beach Ever !

Could this be the smallest beach in the world?
Right in the centre of one of the most spectacular
cities beside one of the most famous landmarks
in the world.

Any guesses?

Find out in tomorrows post ...............................................

Tribalism

An ultra cool and very tribal painting
around a window in Bhandra , Mumbai.
Hands up if you like this graphic mural.

Tuc Tuc

I always choose tuc tucs or Rickshaws when
I can in Bangkok or Mumbai.
They wizz through the traffic getting you
to where you want to go way faster than a
cab. I also love the feeling of openness
and it is easier to take photos from
these than through a car window.
I wish they had them in all cities.

Lunettes

I think it was Gaga who pioneered the
resurgence of these round frames.
Now I have noticed them around a lot.
Could they replace the wayfarer style
which is so ubiquitous on the streets?
Keep a very round eye on this one...

Furry Friends

I am guessing these stickers I spotted on lamp posts in
Bangkok are anti animal testing protest bills...does
anyone speak Thai ?

Back to Basics

Backpacks are everywhere at the moment.
Not just the carry all of choice for school
kids and errr backpackers I guess.
The humble backpack has real street cred
all of a sudden as seen here in
a shot I took recently in Tokyo.

Buckle Up

I took this on the side of a freeway in Downtown LA..
you have been warned by the LAPD!
