A Good Package

Packaging is so much a part of how the
street looks, we don't even notice it is
there most of the time. Whether simple
and natural in brown paper or psychedelic
and out there, a nice wrapper is important
don't you think.
I love the Jim Bean lamp; recycled,
kitsch and mad!
My favourite are the quirky graphics you
find in Asia.
Love the vacant stare on the exotic beauty
above. So Kill Bill.

Piercings

Love them.
I do.
On a person that can carry them off they are hot.
I also think that personal marking whether it be
studs, tattoos, branding ..whatever, are a very
personal forms of expression that often let you
glimpse an aspect of a persons personality in much
the same way as a clothing style or hair does.
Radical..no.
They aren't any more.
The days of Sid Vicious rebellion associated with
piercings has gone.
But piercings are about adornment. They say ..I am not
afraid to alter my appearance in a way that might make
people form judgements.
They also have a history of being attractive to others,
or indicating bravery and group unity , and have been
used by many ancient tribes and races for these reasons
really since the art of adornment began. So they also
have a ritualistic, primitive quality to them that is
really cool.

Poetry

If you happen to notice some ones heart
has fallen off their sleeve onto a wall
somewhere on a street near you,
take a minute to read what they have to
say.

Lil Boots

These Boots were made for Walkin' ,
Boot Scootin, J.R Ewing's cowboy boots
and power- suit, Brad Pitt's cinematic
arrival in boots and little else.
Pop cultures' fascination with boots has
been ongoing.
Remember Madonna trading her killer
leather jacket for a pair of to die for boots
she just desperately had to have in
'Desperately Seeking Susan'.
Or how about the fashion moment when
Kate Moss donned a pair of Vivienne Westwood
pirate boots with an army parka and mini.

The Punk movement, Rocker movement,
Buffalo movement.. just about any collective
worth there weight in Doc Martins, owes part
of there kudos to the BOOT!

Clownin

If you are wandering down the street,
feeling a little flat.. don't be surprised if a
brightly made up guy or girl pops out from
the shadows to spread some cheer.
Ever since I did my post on the amazing
lunar circus (jan 15th), I have attracted
clowns.
Maybe they sense that I am a fan.
Maybe I have needed a bit of a laugh.
Or maybe it takes one to know one!
All I know is , these clowns pictured right
here have that clown IT factor, if such a
thing exists; don't you think?
Oh ,and I think spots are about to be the
next big thing. A streetspaghetti prediction
for you... . . . . . .
